Atropa bella-donna, commonly known as deadly nightshade or belladonna, is a toxic perennial herbaceous plant in the nightshade family Solanceae. Poisonous plants were often used by women in the 18th and 19th centuries to murder and escape their abusive husbands. 

This beautiful brooch, however, won't cause you any harm.

It is made from laser-cut and layered acrylic pieces. Each piece is hand assembled and hand painted with care in limited quantities. There is a horizontal stainless steel locking brooch pin on the back.
